Licensed Adult Services

The Illinois Department of Human Services provides licensure and certification for developmental disability providers to be funded by the Division of Developmental Disabilities.

Providers are licensed for specific services.

​

Licensed services are funded by waivers, but also may accept private payments.

Unlicensed Adult Services

Unlicensed services are typically available for day programming and recreational programs, but may offer other services as well.

​

Since these programs are unlicensed, they do not accept waiver funding but do accept private payments.

​

There are many great unlicensed services in Illinois for adults with developmental disabilities.
